MISSION 7 - November 7, 2015 - COMPLETE

This flight was funded through the tremendous support of Jay and Patty Baker, whose support for our Veterans and for our local community will never be forgotten.

We have dubbed the final flight of our 2015 flying season as the "Lucky Sevens" Flight.  On November 7th we will embark on our 7th Mission, escorting 70 WWII heroes to Washington, D.C. on the 70th Anniversary year marking the end of WWII (1945-2015).  Clearly, luck is on our side, as two of our WWII Heroes will have the distinct honor of laying the wreath on behalf of Collier County Honor Flight at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery.

Seventy treasured Veterans will depart RSW at 7:00 am for a one day trip to our nation’s capital. While in Washington, in addition to witnessing the changing of the guard at Arlington, will visit the WWII Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, and the Vietnam Memorial.

Naples area Honor Flight travelers will assemble at Naples Airport on November 7th at 4:30 am. They will travel by bus to RSW with escorts from the Collier County Sheriff’s Department. Fort Myers travelers will meet at RSW at 5:30 am. The return flight will land at approximately 10:00 pm. More than 1,000 family members, local Service Members, local Law Enforcement and community well wishers are expected at the RSW Welcome Home ceremony. Another Welcome Home will take place at Naples Airport at 11:00 pm. All are welcome!

Help us salute our treasured Veterans on their final mission: Honor Flight. Share the patriotic, feel good story of the year!
